Abstract

The use of artificial wetlands in wastewater treatment is currently being widely used in order to treat wastewater naturally, without the use of energy, and along with this, reusing it mainly in irrigation, reducing water consumption. . in places where this basic need is in the process of being exhausted. In addition to this, the increase in biological and chemical waste in surface waters puts pressure on the creation of a low-cost alternative for water treatment, compared to those conventionally used. Constructed wetlands are systems created by humans to replicate the functions of natural wetlands. These constructed wet spaces have the purpose of treating wastewater, improving water quality and providing habitats for aquatic fauna and flora. These systems, used mainly for wastewater treatment, use biological, chemical and physical processes to eliminate contaminants and improve water quality before discharge into receiving bodies
